Our True Citizenship
In this powerful message, we're reminded of our true citizenship in heaven. Drawing from Philippians 3:20-21, we explore the contrast between those who are 'enemies of the cross' and believers who eagerly await Christ's return. Just as the citizens of Philippi understood their Roman citizenship despite living far from Rome, we too must grasp our heavenly citizenship while still on earth. This perspective transforms how we view our struggles and sufferings - they're temporary reminders that this world isn't our true home. The promise of glorified bodies, free from pain and limitations, awaits us. But more importantly, we're challenged to examine our hearts: do we truly love Jesus and long for His appearing? Our citizenship in heaven isn't just about future glory, but about how we live and love right now, eagerly anticipating the day we'll be fully united with our Savior.
